Happy Summer Vibes!*
This mix has got it all- surfy summer jams, chill electric grooves and a couple new indie rock songs. All of these go along perfect with a sunny summer afternoon.
Craft Spells, Mac DeMarco, and Seoul all have come out with new upbeat tracks that are on par if not better than their previous releases. Keep a particular eye out for Seoul as they slowly leak more songs leading up to a full length.
Zuper, Snacs, Orlok and S O H N have all managed to push the envelope on what good, progressive chill-electronica sounds like. Everything they touch is gold, and these songs are no exception.
The well known Wild Ones, The War On Drugs, and Wye Oak are cruising their way into the hearts and minds of young America. Let them in. Enjoy:

March is upon us and signs of spring are starting to peek through. Here is delightful mix to launch you into all things spring.
Yumi Zouma hails from New Zealand and has a fresh new-age disco sound that is so silky smooth you’ll melt. Just melt.
Salt Cathedral has continued to share new tracks off their upcoming EP. They have an impressive sound that puts them in a category all their own. Don’t miss both of their tracks on this mix!
Arthur Beatrice. That voice.
Juan Wauters is from Uruguay, he lives in New York now. His new album one hundred percent lo-fi goodness.
Angel Olson and Fog Lake have new albums out. Get them.
Ásgeir has one of the best albums in recent years. They are from Iceland and just re-released their album in english. This song is off an acoustic session they did.
I’ve put two retro songs i’ve been really into lately. The first is a 60’s french track from Gillian Hills and the other is an 80’s hit from Brazilian Marcos Valle. Enjoy:

Don’t let the passing of summer get you down- here are some great tunes to keep your spirit high.
First off, I have changed a few things this month:
1) When you download and input the mix into your itunes, the artist name will be Coral As A Color, and the real artist of the song will be a part of the song title. I think this will help keep your itunes nice and tidy and prevent there being too many rouge artists sprinkled throughout your library.
2) You will notice I have changed the streaming option on the right hand side of the site. I’m using grooveshark to stream the mixes now- this allows you the freedom to skip songs, or play a certain song over and over and over. 8tracks is great, but is a bit too restrictive for the user. If you don’t feel like downloading the mix, or want to give it a spin before you commit, feel free!
Shakey Graves has a whole album up for your enjoyment. Acousticy, Folksy and, Beautiful.
Tennis, Denison Witmer and, Bill Callahan have/will have new albums up and they are pretty tasty!
The Blank Tapes are a solid, and innovative surf-rock group that just dropped a soundtrack they scored for a new surf video- check it out.
RYV, Cwabs, Bo en, New Navy, and Swing Delux bring us the best in indie beats this months- top notch.
Lastly, the Pretend’s new track finishes up the mix. Pretend is an LA based indie, mathy, rock, jam, jazz, beautiful, etc band that produces some of the most cutting edge and genre-pushing sounds out there. Enjoy:

September is a month of beginnings. Here’s to a good beginning.
I’m pretty excited about most all of these tracks. The opening track is on constant repeat both in my brain and on my stereo. Montreal’s Seoul is beautiful. I’m looking forward to their upcoming LP- keep an eye out.
Hailing from London, England Akiine has three tracks up on her Soundcloud that are all worth your time. Close your eyes and let them take you away.
A few weeks back, a good friend of mine enlightened me to the wonderful world of Beacon. Gorgeous, haunting and refreshing all at the same time, these guys rock.
A Sol Mechanic and Elkkle both have their full beat-filled albums up for free- spin these all day long.
Monster Rally, and Braids have new tracks/albums out/coming out and they are incredible. Enjoy:

August, the month of eternal sun— I can’t get enough of it. Here are some beachy and not so beachy tunes to get you through another month.
This mix starts off with the song of the summer. Sylvan Esso is a kicking duo made up of Amelia Meath (Mountain Man) and Nick Sanborn (Megafun). They are going to be the next big thing. I promise.
Novelty Daughter just released an EP that is as elegant as it is edgy. Let the cool tones of this track carry you to their website so you can get the full album.
To explain New York based Steve Sobs I give you only the quote off their bandcamp site: So what if you’re lost, So what if you’re low…it’s cool.

Welcome to summer. June is where it all starts and we have some great tracks to match the modd.
Sydney based Jagwar Ma has been slowly releasing songs over the past year culminating in a new LP coming out this month. Their 60s-flowerpop-fuzz-beach-tune jams are perfect for this time of year.
Cayucas, formerly Oregon Bike Trails, released a full length on Secretly Canadian last month- it’s full of swaying summer tracks. The album includes some old time favorites rerecorded. It’s well worth a look.
Pure Bathing Culture has struck the right chord. Everyone is gaga over this song, and for good reason.
New Orleans Duo, Generationals, recently dropped this fun track, keep an eye out for more soon.
Sea Glasses is a lazy-beach band that is top notch from start to finish. They recorded the whole album straight to cassette giving it a fitting tone.
Yalls, Still Corners, Real Cosby and Silent Rider provide us with the electronic side of summer. Let the beats submerge you in the waves of the new season. Enjoy:

May is a beautiful time of year. Buds turn to flowers and clouds let way for the sun. Here is yet another music mix to match whatever occasion May brings.
Moon Bounce has been on my radar for a long time- their remix of Phoenix’s Trying to Be Cool manages to make that song cool.
Floating somewhere between New York and Washington Foxygen has smooth sounds with rough edges. Also, kind of sounds like Bob Dylan.
Kodak to Graph, SpookyFish, Unistaja and MisterrCha each have a unique approach to creating just the right beat set. They keep the electronic genre from getting boring.
Dark Dark Dark, Other Lives and Daft Punk all have new albums on the horizon, these are all sneak peaks at what’s to come.
Lastly, Chance The Rapper wraps up this mix with a song that’s been stuck in my head for weeks. This guy is going to get big. Keep an eye out for his quick rise to fame. Enjoy:

AND WE’RE BACK. After a much too long hiatus from this blog we are back in business, providing you with a collection of nothing but the best tracks each month.
April is a month of both sunshine and rain. I feel that this mix reflects both moods- upbeat/downbeat. Brooklyn-based Salt Cathedral has a complex instrumental backdrop that leaves room for the female-led vocals to soar. Beautiful.
Devendra Banhart and Pickwick both have new albums out that don’t disappoint. Toro Y Moi’s side project, Les Sins, has slowly been releasing tracks in preparation for a full length- a more funky, instrumental version of what he already does.
TOTΛLMΞSS, FXXXYBLNT, Wondr and Tapes are all on the cutting edge of beat-making, electro-chilledout-goodness. Let these tunes carry you through April, rain or shine. Enjoy:

Trick or Treat! October is a big month for this blog- this marks 1 year of music mixes! While I officially started at the end of October/beginning of November, in my mind October is where it all starts. In this case, October is also where it ends…for a little while. I will be traveling for the next 3 months and won’t be able to keep up on this while i’m out and about. I’ll be back in the swing of things come February- so keep an eye out!
This month’s mix has a good feel- a bit more laid back for the fall time. How To Dress Well's stripped down opening track grooves. Secret Mountains, Neil Halstead and Diego Garcia all have new albums out and each are as good as you’d hope.
Ásgeir Trausti is an Icelandic band that I’m particularly excited about. This track is a bit more upbeat, but the rest of their album is much more low key. If you always wished that Bon Iver and Sigur Ros would combine into one band, here it is (though, not literally)!
Markum and Lingrenfunkle wrap up this mix with a tune I can’t stop listening to. These guys are friends of mine from California- they’ve been making music together for a long time and have developed a unique sound that is spot on. Don’t miss this one.

Enjoy:

Autumn is slowly making it’s mark- colder winds are sweeping through, the leaves are beginning to tint a lighter shade of green and it seems more acceptable to make pie and drink cider. As usual, there is a ton of fantastic music floating around this month. Here is is a small catch of what’s out there.
Poor Moon is a new Seattle super group comprised of members from the late Pedro the Lion, Fleet Foxes, and Crystal Skulls. They have a sound that is unique and fresh while feeling all too familiar.
Trails and Ways has been on almost constant repeat for me. Everything they touch is gold. Get in on their sweet vibes as soon as possible.
Benjamin Gibbard is set to release a solo album soon- Teardrop Windows is a pre-released track that’s catchy and vibrant.
My Korean song of the month comes from 검정치마 (or, The Black Skirts). He has songs in Korean, English, and Spanish. This song grooves.
Kith & Kell, Roman Ruins, Peace, Imprintafter, and Kisses have some perfect post-summer jams. Charles Murdoch, Young & Sick, Freeze-Tag and Odesza are some new and old beat-magicians that range from slow jams to trap-hop dance tunes. Enjoy:

The August heat has finally settled, which means it high time for beach combing, bbq-ing, and eating as many ice-pops as humanly possible…my favorite time of year. I have dug up more good music than I know what to do with this month, so i’ve split the August mix in two- Here you will find a more up-beat collection and in a week or two I will drop a chilled out mix for the quiter moments spent under the sun. Keep an eye out.
Trails and Ways is a stellar guy/gal duo from Oakland that has a great collection of summer-time jams up on their Cloud- get it all and put it in your rotation.
I loved Sea Wolf's album that came out a handful of years ago and they are now back- they are set to come out with a new album that seems much like their previous album (which, in this case is a good thing). This track is off their upcoming record.
Speaking of bands that are coming back around after a quiet few years, The Dirty Projectors and The Helio Sequence have new albums out that are well worth your time.
Other big-news bands popping up on this mix are: Frank Ocean's sweet grooves that have made huge waves in the indie music world, a new track off of Purity Ring's new debut album and Tame Impala, the Australian indie super star who just produced their sophomore record. Each are big news for a reason, so don’t skip these ones.
Sorcha Richardson sent me a link to her new album, Sleep Will Set Me Free, and I was hooked from moment I listened to the first track. She’s a New York transplant from Dublin that has a beautifully striped down and raw sound that is confident, honest and comforting all in the same breath.
Case Work and Bored Nothing are the sounds of the summer- sun soaked beach-lo-fi jams.
Kuala Lumpur’s Yuna has a gorgeous voice backed by some groovin’ bass and congas.
As you approach the end of this mix your ears will be overwhelmed by the candy K-pop sounds of Girls Generation. This song is from a few years back, and while Korea has moved on from this song (and become obsessed with PSY’s Gangnam Style), this song is a huge guilty pleasure of mine that I couldn’t resist not throwing in.

This mix is jam-packed with other tasty gems; don’t miss a beat! Enjoy:

Enjoy:

About:

Every month I collect music from across the interweb, whittle it down to my favorite few, and share it with you. Some of the mix files are quite large and may take a couple minutes to download- but keep your cool, it's well worth the wait.

The best way to enjoy each mix is to:
1) Download the .zip (compresses) mix file.
2) Unzip the file (for mac users, just double click on it and that should do the trick)
3) Open the now exposed folder
4) Open itunes and make a new playlist (name it whatever the playlist is called)
5) Drag and drop the musical contents (minus the album art file) into the empty playlist.

ENJOY
